Target Hacked, are your Card's Numbers Safe?

Target hacked, victim of security breach

It was announced yesterday that Target was the victim of a security breach that started on Black Friday and continued through December 15th. The breach was not limited to just online shopping. It is reported that the brick and mortar stores were affected as well. We may never know the number of credit and debit cards that were accessed, but it is estimated to be in the millions.

What You Can Do

Check your credit cards statements religiously. Don’t wait for a paper statement, go online and check for any purchases that you did not make.
If you find an unauthorized purchase, call your credit card company to freeze the account and get them started on clearing up the purchases.
