Violent Muppet Awards Show Summary

The VMAs started off with Sway and the cast of Jersey Shore... minus The Situation, who's probably still in a neck brace somewhere.

Lady Gaga got the first award, Best Video with a Message, for Born This Way. Don't know who else woulda won that one.

Rockin an iced-out leg cast and crutches was Jessie J and her band hosted the show.  They apparently scrapped Kevin Hart as the host cuz he only opened the show and was in funny skits through-out.

Swizz Beats mentioned his style was influenced Quincy Jones.

Katy Perry had tequila before the show, admitting she likes shots of tequila... Nothing wrong wit dat.

Kevin Hart told Lil Wayne to stop skateboarding and stick with rapping (he shoulda told him stop singing too) .

Britney Spears won Best Pop Vid for Til the World Ends.

Rick Ross was painting 'happy trees' in his dressing room.

Foo Fighters won best Rock vid for Walk, ecouraging fans to never loose faith in rock music.

Nicki Minaj won best Hip-hip video for Super Bass, beating out both Lil Wayne's 6 foot 7 foot and Kanye's All of The Lights.

Katy Perry picked up Best Collaboration video for Extra-terrestrial with Kanye.  She made fun of Kanye for stealing the stage at the last VMAs but he was actually very humble on stage this time.

Neyo and Pitbull took the stage and performed Tonight.

Adele gave a soul-powered performance of Someone Like You.

U Smile and Justin Bieber won Best Male video.

Chris Brown lip-synced through his dance performace and almost fell dancin too hard. Spent a lot of time flying and flipping through the air on a wire harness, too. I gotta admit though, he's one of the best dancers in R&B.

Britney, later, won the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award, which many people on twitter were mad about. I say give her props, she's really put a lot of work in and she has influenced the entire pop genre.

Beyonce hit the stage with an energy-filled performance in a purple sequence blazer, whipping her hair away.  She has the best performance voice, no matter if she's dancing her ass off or just singing a ballot.

Winner of Best New Artist went to Tyler the Creator who said, "I wanted this $hit since I was 9... To all the kids out there, you can do this sh!t too..." Way to send a positive message! He beat out Big Sean and also Wiz Khalifa for the award, so... congrats mayne.

Oh yeah, Beyonce annouced that she's pregnant.  Guess she had some explainin to do...

Lady Gaga got another one for Best Female video... She tried to kiss a 60 year old lady on stage. Not sure who she was but she definitely  wasn't havin that...

Mini dedication to Amy Winehouse performed by Bruno Mars was very 60s and also very memorable largely do to his pompadour hair-do, when's that gettin old?

Video of The Year went to Katy Perry's Firework. But what was up wit the yellow cube hat-thing she was wearing.

Drake introduced Lil Wayne's horrible performance of How To Love. His mic was auto-tuned but his throat wasn't. He quickly went to rock-mode looking like a lil kid runnin round stage wit no shirt on in girl jeans rapping Not A Star over a rock instrumental.

Then it was all abruptly over and the latest episode of I Just Want My Pants Back came on.

Overall you didn't miss too much.
