Should you book a DJ or a Band for your event?

     Whether you are having a graduation party, wedding or corporate event, one question always comes up: Should we get a DJ or a live band to perform?  I recommend taking the size of the venue and your budget into consideration.  If you are going to have the event outside, usually you will have plenty of room for a live band to set up and perform.  Indoor events, with confined space, will do better with a DJ the playing music and requests.  If you have the resources and the space, I would hire both!  The DJ would play in-between the band's performances and keep the mood going.  This also adds variety in music options as sometimes people want to hear the original version of a classic song instead of a cover.   Looking at your budget, DJs are usually less expensive than a live band because you only have to pay for one person and their assistant at the most.
