Logan had a great time at his 1st birthday party today; meeting some of his family and lil' cousins that he had yet to met. We had a late start but the gazebo was very patient with us. It was a scorcher! Geez, it got over 100 degrees out there; glad we chose not to grill out, instead it was Little Caesars to the rescue haha. Seeing my mom, brother and grandma is always a fun thing, but my cousin Nikki, Larry and his family also showed up! I hadn't seen Larry in like 15 years! He was my fave cousin growing up too. So we caught up on good times, a nice surprise.
Half of the gang joined us in de pool and that cooled things down a little. Logan loves the water... doesn't even like being in his floating chair, he likes being IN the water, splashing and ahem.. drinking the pool water! After an hour in the pool, it was time for presents and DJ Fo led the happy birthday song because no one else would, lol. Grandma finished it off with her favorite extended version, "May the good Lord bless you, may the good Lord bless you..." The funny thing is, she's the only one who knows how the last line goes so everyone that was singing along just let her fill in that part. After the song, of course, it was time for cake. And since his little cake is called a smasher cake, Sadi thought it would be funny to smash his face with it! And yes it was pretty funny. Good times, some pics are below...
